ouch

I have 3 big burns on my fingers, two of which have now blistered oops. Can you guess what I got for christmas from this haha. Yus a curling wand. They do make such pretty curls, but you dont get the sliilly little clip to hold the hair in, hence the burnt fingers. And they get super hot very quick, which is good as they hold the curl better, but not so good for your hands. My current straight hair.

And after a play with the wand.

I think that I need some practice, but its differnt.

Today has been a real lazy day. I got up feeling exhausted. Mum and Dad were going out, but I chose to stay at home. I was back on my bed by 1 and awoke when they came in at 4. oops. Still feel tired, yet not done anything. So off to bed for me. Hopefully, tomorrow I will have a little more energy.

Fun!!

I have had an amazing couple of days, so much so, I have hardly spoken to any of my online friends, sorry about that. I had fun, I forgot most things and I felt my age!

Friday morning, it was up bright and early to go to the first showing of Harry Potter. As we were out so early, we went for breakfast. I has pnacakes and bacon and I must say, it is one of the nicest pancakes I have ever had yum yum. I planned the route to the cinema, in such a way, that hills and stairs were swapped for escalators and lifts and I did not exhaust myself.

The film itself was wonderful, I wasnt as excited as I could have been as I didnt really get into the book for one reason or other, but the film was edited wonderfully. And a big section of it was shot in Liverpool, where they are in the tunnel near the start. Apparently there were other bits too.

Driving through the city centre to get home, and some bus driver stopped in the middle of the road, the car behind kept beeping at us to go on the pavement to get around, but my friend shouted, just wait. Next thing we know, we are at the lights and she gets out the car and tried to get in our car to shout at us. Total loon, good job we had the doors locked.

So came home and slept for a couple of hours then got ready to go out clubbing. I wish I had more pictures, but my web cam was playing up and I have not got any off anyone else yet. But I curled my hair and wore a strapless top.

It was for a hen night so they had hired a party bus. Again, I suck with pictures, but it had a dance floor and laser lights and a bar, so yeah pretty fun. We did get kicked out of the docks though as a load of the girls went for a wee behind the bus, but oh well.

It was a good night, from people dancing on the chairs, drinking through socks and raising money with a cowbot hat to get then hen drunk. Actully made £83 in about 30 mins. It was a good night. Got in around 3 am. The good thing about clubbing, is that the music is that loud, I can actully make out the lyrics. I enjoy the music so much more when I can hear it. It also kinda helped me to regain some faith in my friend. She is one of those people, who dosnt really deal well with sick friends, she kinda vanished when I got ill. Now I am getting better, she seems to be back. I dont know, I in a way, dont hold this against her. At that age, not many people want to be spending all their time visiting a friend in hospital.

So Saturday, I did my usual and helped my mum with shopping then came home for a nap. I was exhausted. We had a neighbours part to go to that night, so it was off out again. I lacked energy to do anything with my hair, so I just kinda clipped it up. It looked kinda elegant if I do say so myself.

Though this was the end of the night so it had fell down a little.

Sunday, I literally blitzed the living room. Sorting out paper work, putting stuff away and general cleaning.

I think I may have overdone it this week though. I went to bed last night and could not stop coughing. Today, my temp has spiked so its back on anti biotcs. Just hope they kick in before the next weekend. I shall post more tomorrow. Right now, I am drained and ache all over from coughing, even my knees. But it was worth. :)

Toy Story 3 and bright hair

Its been a good couple of days. Tiring, but good.

I spent some time out with mum and dad, which was good. It absolutely chucked it down with rain. So much so that our garden turned into a swimming pool and the water on the roads came up near the top of the wheels. But we had a few hours out and I got sleep in the car so I felt ok during it.

Then I had my older niece down for a bit. We wanted to go see Toy story 3, so I had pre-booked IMAX premier seats. Im sure by now you al know my excitement at going to see toy story!

I had already met Woody.

I also met Buzz, but his picture has vanished =[ Must be on the other computer.

So I was very excited.

We went for some lunch first to Red Hot. That is a lovely all you can eat restaurant type place, but I can go there without being too naughty as they have lots of fresh cooked areas. They have a pasta bar, noodle bar and chinese bar. Here you pick your raw ingredients and they cook it while you are standing there. There is also so much choice as they do italian, Indian, English, Chinses, Japense and yeah nom nom.

So I ate a ton there with my niece and had a natter. Then went to see the film!
WOW!! It was so so good. I was apprehensive at first as I didnt like toy story 2, but number 3 is so good. I laughed so much through it and I almost almost cried! I was trying not to cry as I didnt want to make a fool out of myself infront of my niece, who later admitted that she had also cried.

We got the bus home, though we had just missed one so had to wait for ages and then on the way back down came the heavy rain again. It came down so fast the roads were flooded. Got back here and looked at some old phots and watched some true blood.

It was a good day. It was slightly tinged with some aspects that saddened me. She is not used to being out with me so was walking at her normal pace, but there was no way I could keep up without sounding like I had run a marathon. And no way I could have a conversation whilst walking. I actually read somewhere before that if you are exercising by walking and cant hold a conversation whilst you are doing it, then you are walking to fast. So where does that leave me, I cant hold a convo whilst walking at a slow pace. It was amazing how tired I was getting from the bus to the cinema, which is maybe a 10 min walk. The restaurant luckily was right next to the cinema and then back on the bus. Though I did plan the route with the least slopes and even attempted to use the lift at one point instead of the hill, but the building was shut. But hey, lets remain hopeful that that is all going to change soon.

The next day we had a late start so just had a short walk around the town close to where she lives. We had been looking at hair dye pictures and she asked me if I could do hers in a certain style as she wasnt sure how to do it. So she bought hair dye and I bought so clip in flashes for my hair. I would love to have a funky color, more so than red, I mean like 2 colors. I redid my color the other day so its nice and bright again.

But I am not up to the upkeep at the moment of having two lots of color so I bought some royal blue flashes that just clip in. I have just finished stitching the clips to them in the correct places, but have not tried the length yet. So I shall probably try them out tomorrow.

Anyway, my nieces hair, it took a while whilst I sectioned it up and got the bits in the right place and colored the bits and so forth, but it turned out so good. I am very jealous, I would love this style or even just the main color. Here are pics.

I absolutely love it. I hate growing up, you can get away with as much hehe. I think the hardest part of doing this style, was trying to not let the colors mix. If the turquoise even touched the pink, it would instantly turn purple, so you kinda had to be super careful not to knock one section with the other. I suppose I could of vaselined one lot and done it in two goes, but I wanted to get all the dye on in one go and be done with it, rather than washing out and dying and washing out again. Oh well it was fun. So I didnt get home till midnight last night and pretty much just collapsed into bed.

Hairstory

So I hate having plain old boring hair.
Since I was diagnosed with server hearing loss and having to wear hearing aids (thank you Gentamicin) I have kept my hair short. Usually spikey on top with a side fringe and the side long enough to cover my ears. Kinda like this:

Which was great especially when I worked as a nurse (check out the uniform above, though I cut most of it off) As it used to look tidy, but took less than 3 minutes to style and if I was running short on time, I could wash it under a tap and let it dry while driving.

I was born a natural blonde, it was so pale in fact that until I was 3, you could not see that I had any hair. As I got older it began (as it does) to darken, but I just used to lighten it of a summer and leave it of a winter. However, after my transplant, I lost all my hair (from being so ill and stressed.) When it came back, instead of my natural poker straight blonde hair, it grew as thick curly mousey brown hair. But blondes have more fun! Nah really, I just didnt like having brown hair. so I dyed it blonde a lot. But this wasnt very god for my hair as it had to be a strong blonde and I had to do it every 4-6 weeks to cover the roots (effort!)

So I went to a light brown instead:

But I pretty soon got bored of that, so I went for purple

Which was fine for the winter months, but as it got warmer, I got bored of having such dark hair. So I kept the purple, but changed the tips to blonde.

While searching for hair dye, I discovered the world of bright semi permant colors. So I became pink. And I loved the pink so so much. It got so many comments and I just loved it.

But as it was semi permant, it needed redoing every other week to keep it vibrant. I know a lot more tricks and such now, but at the time it did come out quick. so I felt like a change so switched to red.

But the red made me look a little pale. So it didnt last all that long. I then made the mistake that you should never ever make. That is dying your hair within 24 hours of having a big event planned. I was going out clubbing to celebrate the end of a long placement. I really wanted to try a medium to dark blue, however over the red, it went very patch and more black (I couldnt at the time pull black off) so I panicked and in an attempt to lighten it, I threw over a load of random colors I had sitting about, including red, pink and purple. (you have to ignore the state of me on this photo, it was like the day after the night before and I really didnt feel well)

It actully looked fairly cool in real life, as it had all kinds of flecks of color depending where the light hit it. But I decided to give my hair a break. I knew to get any decent color I would need to use a lot of heavy treatment on it. So as the colors washed out, it began to turn into a sort of metallic brown.

Yeah, not my favourite color. So I bleached it. But it had so much color in it, that most of it went white, but the tips turned green. Most people would cal it a disaster, but I actully fairly liked it (And yeah I still have the urge to go apple green all over, maybe one day.)

So I went for blue. But it didnt really come out to well, though it still looked fairly cool.
I then started on a new degree in computers where I needed to spend a certain amount of hours in an office working, so I had to tone my hair down for the last couple of years. I spent most summers blonde.

And most winters purple.

Though at one point I did go orange by mistake.

Then when I went into hospital a lot last year, I was blonde, but it grew out and I didnt dye it as I didnt feel up to it and such. Eventually I got it cut just before christmas and the majority of the blonde came out and I was left with my natural brown. Once out of hospital, I went back to purple, but it faded pretty quick and I had grown bored of purple.

I still dont have the energy to be dying it every other week, so I wanted a permeant color that was a bit brighter than purple. So far, the only unatural colors I can find in permeant though are purple and red. So last week I began the process of changing color. So it was this shade when I began:

Then on goes the bleach:

Which went a nice bright orange (white white roots)
So I used another lightener (though a more gentle one this time)
Which went a slightly more normal shade of kinda strawberry blonde. (this actully looked fairly good in the sun) But then I finished the job and went:

But sometimes in the sun looks more like this shade:

Or doing a caught in a gale impression:

Though since I have washed it last night, it seems to have gone darker. Whic I am not liking. I want bright bright bright. But this is a permeant color, so I am going to keep it as is for a while. I might redo it in the same color while on holiday if it starts too look washed out and perhaps when I get back off my hols, go for a semi permeant in true over the top. :/

Oh and this is the longests my hair has been in about 5 years (if not more) I have made the descion to let it grow for a while. While I have so much weight on my, espcially around my face (thanks Cushings) I look to much of a big fat blob with short hair. So yeah. That is my hairstory.

Every time is adventure time!

Today was a bank holiday, which meant a long weekend. (woo) Not that it makes a huge difference to me but my mum had an extra day off work and yeah.

Friday night, I didnt end up going to bed till about 2:30 am (yeah I know that isnt exactly late for me, but I do try to go earlier on a Friday as I have to get up to help mum on a Saturday morning.) But it was Eva's memorial and it was being live streamed from Canada.

It will be availble soon to watch (well you can watch it now, but its not good quality) but I felt the need to watch it live and I am so glad that I did. First off, hearing how Eva grew up, how her spirit has always shone through even when at her sickest, listening to her friends best memories of her, learning how much her family treasured her. She really did live a wonderful and full life.

But more than that, with the live stream, there was also a live chat. I was able to talk to people who went to school with Eva as well as others whose lives she had touched. It was nice. Her legacy truly will live on.

So I have decided to stop being a wimp and so I am going to upload the video I filmed at easter as a record of my voice. The quality is kinda crap as I had to turn my mic volume up full and I was only using the one installed on the computer, so you can hear all the computer workings too. Maybe at some point, I will dig out my old mic and redo it.

So yeah. I know I have a horrible accent, but that is my voice at the moment, sounds kinda like a whisper. I am fine around friends, but often if out, strangers ask why I am whispering. blah. Also, its harder to talk than normal talking as I literally have to force air out of my throat. If I talk too much (which isnt a lot really) I tend to get bad headaches, I can only assume these are from lack of oxygen or something. I tend to take painkillers for them which numbs it a bit, but sleep is the best cure =]

There has also been another change. A more visible one if you like.
I have changed hair color. I would post pictures, but I am not that happy with the pics I have at the minute and I want to put a few pics in from a while back, so maybe I will do that tomorrow.

So I have been shopping and got a few new top for my hols and I am also in the process of moving my 'entertainment system' around. I usually have my wii plugged in under my tv and my cable and dbox under my tv put not plugged in. The reason for that is that my tv is in my wardrobe type thing on the wall. The wii fits on the shelf underneath, but the cable and that just about fit, but once you put the wires in, the doors wont move past it. Well today I managed to get a long extension lead so I am in the process of moving everything to the other side of my wardrobe where there is more room. (though the wires will look a bit more messy) it should prevent me having to plug everything in all the time and I think the remotes should still work from my bed (bonus!.) I am part way through doing it, but I have had a few issues, my dbox currently wont pick up any signals, I should have checked it really, but it was working last time I used it (maybe a month ago) and its rare that all the channels go at once, so I will have to have a better look tomorrow, no doubt I have wired something in wrong.

A dbox, by the way, is a german satellite receiver that runs on the cable (now virgin) tv system. You usually have to program it yourself, but you get more channels than you would on cable alone. (shh)
Once that is working I will need a longer scart, then to decide if I want to plug my dvd player in or just stick to running dvds through the wii. hmm. I've run out of scarts though, but maybe if I can get a long scart to phono It would be worth plugging in also. (hehe no wonder dad shouts at the electricity bill)

I might post pics once I am done.

Anyway enough rambling.

Spoons and annoying hair

So I want to apologize for my last whiney woe is me post. I was having one of those nights when I wanted to feel sorry for myself and curl up under my duvet and pretend there was nothing wrong. But I am over that now (hopefully) and getting on with getting on =]

I would say its been a busy few days but I dont have a clue what I have done ha.
Friday I was going out for tea with a friend. The nurses came and noticed I had a 'lump' on my wound. After a few phone calls apparently its over granulation and fairly normal and nothing to worry about (and by the looks of things has vanished today so oh well)

Anyway, my hair was getting too long so I decided to cut my fringe and while i was there cut some nice random bits out from the top, back and sides to hehe. Instead of my usuall spike I went for a kinda ruffed up bed head type look. I liked it and it was a bit different.
So yeah after tea we came back to mine and watched some tv and a film (New moon again hehe, yes we are obssesed) and then my friend found out that I knew how to use photoshop so had me edit a picture to put her in it lol. I could have done better but this was like 3am and she was happy with it.

So Saturday, I was utterly exhausted. To the point that I couldnt hardly stay awake. Makes me believe a lot more in the spoon theory (ok so it appears that the website hosting the spoon theory is being updated, however it can also be viewed here) So getting ready to go out and actually going out took it out of me so much I kinda had to pay it back the next day. So as much as I hate it I used my wheelchair around the shops on Saturday and then slept all saturday afternoon.

And today, I went out for a drive in my dads new car. and played some wii. exciting huh. Oh and I was still annoyed at my hair so decided to try a differnt style again. (It looks much better in person than in the pic)
Which was kind of inspired from Alice Cullen ;)
Though of course she is much prettier. And man do I need to lose weight. My face has gone so round and podgy. urgh one day maybe lol. Anyway yeah, hair, its a little more feminie and looks kinda nice I think so I might try keeping this style for a little while and see. Though it looks good now all sticking out I dont want to go sleep on it as it will flatten it hehe.

Yep so that my exciting weekend.
